The San Jose born Kaku was the child of Japanese immigrants who grew up in silicon valley breeding ground Palo Alto, CA in the 1960's. Known for his publications on String theory primarily he also appears frequently on TV in shows such as The Universe, and in specials for The Science Channel, Discovery Channel, and Planet Green.</description>
